Lonely Tears

My tears of salty water grey
Upon your crimson cheeks I lay;
They roll so gently from my eyes
But don't deny your many lies

Sleep, my child, and don't awake
Down in the valley, under the lake;
I loved you so, you'll never know
But now our love will never grow

I thought that I would see you bloom
But now I see you in your tomb;
Blind they stole your life away
A crime that time cannot repay

The life they took so carelessly
Is now a life that cannot be;
They never knew you, little child,
The girl you were, so meek and mild.
